Peruvian Highland DK yarn,
pure, non super wash wool.
225m per 100g skein,
4-6mm needles/hook recommended
Peruvian Highland sheep are a cross between Corriedale and Merino. Their wool has a fine and long fibre, which is both strong and soft. As a non-superwash wool, this yarn is ‘rustic’ feeling without being scratchy. Its a proper wooly wool, and very different to my usual products.
It has a slight stickiness to it, which makes it perfect for fairisle and colour work projects, excellent for anything with steeking and awesome for small accessories such as walking socks or hats and mittens. For comparison, its closest commercial counterpart is Cascade 220.
All yarns are hand dyed by Verity in our smoke free, pet friendly home in Nottingham, England using professional dyes.
Skeins are hand dyed in batches, and some small differences may occur between them.
We strongly recommend purchasing enough yarn to complete your project as future batches may not match.
To avoid any differences being noticeable in your projects, you should alternate between balls every couple of rows.
All items made with our yarns should be hand washed in cold water and dried flat. You may experience a small amount of colour bleeding on the first wash – this is normal.
Every attempt is made to ensure colours are displayed accurately in our photographs but subtle differences can occur between screens.
