I’m delighted to bring to you a series of collaborations through 2022 to celebrate 10 years of Truly Hooked.
The second of these collaborations is with Weku Yarns.
Numbers are very limited, so don’t miss out!
Lydia and Hannah, the sisters behind Weku Yarn, bring their Ghanaian heritage to their colourways & that was something we wanted to keep as an influence behind this collaboration. Lydia is expecting twin girls this Spring, a time associated with new life & new beginnings as we see the world around us change from Winter into the new season. In Ghanaian culture, a week after birth, a celebration called ‘kpodziemo’ takes place. This special ceremony is where the new arrival is introduced to the family and wider community, often the first time the baby goes outdoors, hence it being known as ‘outdooring’.
More information can be found here.
We’ve used this outdooring ceremony as the basis for our yarn colours, touching on other elements of Ghana as well as the new life flourishing as Spring unfolds around us.
100g of yarn from Truly Hooked, 100g from Weku Yarns and a couple of gifts too.
All yarns are hand dyed using professional grade dyes and throughly rinsed before sale. Please note that no two skeins are alike & dye lots may not be replicated, so please order enough for your project. We advise alternating skeins throughout your project to hide the subtle differences between them. Some loose dye may come off during the first wash. It is advised to hand wash all projects separately using cold water – without detergent as this can loosen dye particles – and all items should be dried flat.
