About Us

Founded in 2011 and born out of a love of yarn, knitting, crochet and colour, Truly Hooked has been steadily growing from strength to strength.

Producing beautiful, bold and brilliant yarns, Truly Hooked aims to bring a splash of colour to your stash.  Every skein is dyed by hand, bringing you unique luxury yarns that are a pleasure to work with.
Following the sudden death of her Father, Verity turned to crochet as a creative release and way to escape from the stress of bereavement as well as being a new mum. She quickly fell in love with crochet and began selling her makes to friends, before adding knitting to her skills. The business began entirely by accident but has grown into a way of life, with Verity learning to dye yarn, and husband Meyrick leaving a successful career in restaurant kitchens to bring his graphic design and photography skills to our very family orientated business.
Based in Nottingham, but shipping worldwide, you can buy directly from us right here. You can also find us in a small select number of yarn shops. We regularly travel across the country, making appearances at yarn shows and exhibitions giving you the chance to take selfies, touch and squish the yarn before buying.
The business has received multiple nominations at the British Knitting and Crochet awards since 2016. Verity has been shortlisted in the Best Indie Dyers category, new for 2019.
As well as producing beautiful hand dyed yarns we also create and publish award winning books. Our first book, ‘The Sock Drawer’,  released in 2016 had an incredible reception, exceeding our expectations. We’ve been overwhelmed by it’s success and all of the fantastic reviews we’ve had from customers and fellow professionals alike.  We were delighted when it won Favourite Book at the 2017 Knitting and Crochet Awards.
Our second book exploring Verity’s crochet work, ‘On The Hook’ was released in September 2017. Another beautiful book featuring Meyricks stunning photos and signature large charts. This was Runner Up at the 2018 awards in the Favourite Crochet Book category.
In summer 2018 we launched ‘The Second Drawer Down’ to continue our love affair with sock knitting. This has been shortlisted for the 2019 Awards in the category for Best Knitting Book.
